Great News! We contacted Matthew Sprange at Mongoose Publishing
today and he confirmed that any fans that want to produce material for
publication will be able to get the Developer's Kit as well. But fans
will not be able to get the kit until after the official release date
of the game. As for the professional publishers, they will have access
to the Developer's Kit before the game's release.

We wanted to mention that Deluxe Basic RolePlaying is a lot closer
to the RQ3 system than the version being created by Mongoose Publishing.
However, we are still anticipating the new release.
10.20.05
Mongoose Publishing will be releasing the new version of Runequest in
mid-2006. It will cost $19.95 for the core rules. They also plan to
publish several supplements and expansion packs for this new version.
Another great feature is that this new version will be what they call
an "Open Game System" giving the rest of us a chance to contribute in
certain ways in its further development. For more information check
