Tony Kornad
|
Tony was born in the small village of Wyrd. The village was a small
farming community just north of the city of Kiev. His parents were farmers,
as were most of the other villagers, but he always spent his time in
the village causing problems with his best friend Micah. From the very
start he knew he didn't want to be a farmer. He always hoped and dreamed
of a more exciting life.
At the age of 20 he and his friend Micah, had taken all they could from
village life. They were ready to leave their village and see the world.
Before they had a chance to leave another nearby village threatened
the safety of their village and they decided to help save their village.
It was many years ago when this occured and the details are long forgotten,
but this one single event was the start to many adventures that would
take Tony all across the known world and into places far from home.
During the struggle to save the village Tony first met the man that
would become his master. The man's name was Korlin. He introduced Tony
to magic and and gave him his first taste of real knowledge and power.
Tony became his apprentice and was quick to learn anything that Korlin
would teach him. After they finally saved their village and truly left
to see the world, the first place they stopped was Kiev. Though he only
lived a few miles away it was the first time he had ever been there.
His first visit to Kiev was rather dull and he passed through without
so much as a thought for the place that would play a big part in his
life in the future.
After they left
Kiev they headed for Rome. They wanted to see a big city and Rome
was the biggest of them all. There he knew he could gain the knowledge
that he so desparately sought after. It seems that Tony's dreams all
came true. Everywhere he went a new adventure waited for him. In Rome
he gained in both knowledge and power. He then went on from city to
city always learning and growing stronger. Within a few years Tony
and Micah were known throughout the land as some of the meanest people
to walk the land. They were responsible for the destruction of Rome,
Samarkand, and Londonium. They also had stolen all three of those
cities' treasuries and acquired great a great deal of wealth. They
had an underwater cavern full of all their money. It was enough to
make any dragon jealous. He and Micah also became the leaders of the
city of Baghdad and turned it into the greatest city. After a time
though, ruling the city became boring. Tony and Micah sought out a
new challange and new adventures.
Their journey then took them into another dimension. The details of
what happened on the other side of the portal have faded from Tony's
mind, but he will never forget the fact that he was there. On the
other side of the portal Tony once again grew considerably in knowledge
and power. After the new dimension experience returned to find that
his former master, Korlin, had been captured. Tony left Micah and
set out to free his master. Tony was able to destroy the sorceror
that had captured Korlin and set him free. A few years later his master
passed away and gave everything he owned to Tony. Tony spent the next
few months alone studying all that Korlin had owned. Afterward, Tony
left the confines of Korlin's Castle and traveled around the world
gaining knowledge and experience where he could.
In his travels he ran into a group known as the Knights of Justice
who proclaimed that they would impose justice on the land. Tony felt
that they were evil and vowed that he would destroy them. They were
led by a man named Krimin, whom Tony absolutely despised, and a group
of men known as the High Council. It took him many years to accomplish
his goal but when it was done Tony felt that he had in some way made
the world a better place to live. That was a turning point in his
life. Previous to destroying the Knights of Justice Tony had never
been truly good. In fact the opposite was true. He had quite the reputation
as a bandit, thief, and all around bad guy.
During the years that he was trying to destroy the Knights of Justice,
he found rare item known to him as the Jenione Orb. This orb was unlike
any other item he had ever found. It seemed to have a personality
and it was so powerful. Tony decided to link himself to it. He was
forever changed because of that link and it would prove to be very
useful in the future. Around this same time he metand fell in love
with his future wife, Sethra. He courted her for quite some time and
got up enough guts to ask her to marry him. She consented and they
were married a short time later. Once they were married his wife opened
up his eyes to a whole new system of magic that he didn't even know
existed.
His new goal was to become a Dzur Lord. They traveled around together
and had a lot of fun. It was during this time that Tony took his first
step towards becoming a Dzurian being. He left Sethra, whom he loved
dearly, and went to live with the dragons for a while. He first had
to pass the test to even begin learning their secrets. The test was
very difficult. He had to defeat on the dragons in combat, but they
were not ordinary dragons. Tony had long ago been able to defeat such
normal creatures. He no longer registered on the danger class system.
It was a long hard battle but in the end, Tony was victorious. Then
the real challange began. He first learned their language. Then he
learned their magic and then at last he learned how to become one
of them. It took many years for him to complete his training with
the dragons, but for Tony it was all worth it.
He returned to his wife no longer just a human. He was something better,
but not yet a Dzur being. At this point he was assigned blood knights
and a bloodguard. His bloodguard was Kalis. Kalis soon became one
of Tony's best and most trusted friends. After the time with the dragons
he learned of an ancient civilization that had long ago been destroyed.
The civilization was the greatest known to man in every way. It was
a great magical civilization. Tony headed to go where the civilization
had been and gain all of their power and knowledge.
It turned out that the ancient civilization, known as Alonia, was
located beneath Kiev. All this time all the power and knowledge had
been right where he grew up. He was able to actually raise the city
Alonia up from the ground and restored it to a semblance of its former
glory. Alonia was a treasure beyond compare. Tony found magical items
and knowledge galore. It was here in Alonia that Tony found out more
about the Jenione and the threat they were to his planet. It was also
here that he found a way to them, a curious ship capable of space
travel. He boarded the ship with his wife, Kalis, blood knights, and
several men, women, and children - blindly flying from Earth. He didn't
know where he was going or how to get there. Some time either on the
ship or just prior to boarding Sethra became pregnant with their first
child. They named him Joshua Kalis.
Lucky for Tony he landed on a planet that was habitable and in fact
was populated with humans. He set up a colony where he landed and
set out with Sethra, Kalis, and his blood knights to explore the planet.
He came across a city that was inhabited by two very religious types
of people who were always trying to out do the other. Tony aligned
himself with one of the groups and made it the most powerful one by
far. After that encounter he was on his way to a major human city
when he was stopped by an army and ordered to surrender or be killed.
They had mistaken him for someone else, and when he tried to tell
them he wasn't who they though he was, they didn't believe him. It
turns out that the man they were looking for was Tony's brother or
so he claimed. His name was Tomilor. Tony still to this day doesn't
know for sure what the deal was with Tomilor, but in the end Tony
was forced to face him and kill him.
Also, on this planet there was a group known as The Heroes. They were
a group of powerful people who protected the planet from all evil
influences. Tony decided that he wanted to join their group. In order
to do so he had to meet certain criteria. All of the members of the
group had to meet and approve of him in order for him to join. He
also had to accomplish a task. Killing Tomilor was the task he had
to do. It didn't take long for all of them to meet him and accept
him. During this time he was meeting all the heroes strange things
began to happen to him. He was being sent through time and space to
different events that had either already happened or could possibly
happen in the future. Tony never learned the truth and it hasn't happened
to him in a while.
He met someone on one of his trips who led him to believe that he
might be becoming what is known as a Traveler. But he may never learn
the truth of that. After finally officialy becoming one of the Heroes,
his wife Sethra was abducted by some unknown force that took over
the bodies of his personal blood knights. The force had taken her
so far away that despite Tony's vast power he was barely able to locate
her. He asked the Heroes if they would help him rescue his wife and
they agreed. They boarded the ship that Tony had come to their planet
in and started on the incredibly long journey to where his wife was
taken. In that great length of time Tony and Kalis, and all of the
Heroes grew closer together and became great friends.
When they arrived at the planet where Tony was sure his wife had to
be, they were told they couldn't land. They had to sneak onto the
planet instead. Once on the planet he discovered that they didn't
have magic but that they were quite advanced when it came to technology.
Tony didn't even know what technology was until he arrived at this
world. A few days later after sneaking onto the planet he located
Sethra and went to see if he could find her. All he found in her place
were two little black stones that contained her life force. At least
that is what he believes. He also made one friend on this world named
Roger. He is a leading librarian who befriended Tony and continues
to teach him marvelous things. He learned a great deal more about
the Jenione from Roger.
After learning a few things from Roger, Tony decided to meet with
the cities' foreign advisor to see if he can learn any more about
the Jenione. Tony met with the foreign advisor and a meeting was arranged
for Tony to meet the Jenione. Tony was taken down a long corridor
and into an empty circular room. The room was lit but had no visible
light source. Suddenly the light turned to darkness, and then back
to light. Standing in front of Tony against the wall were 11 beings
all wearing long-hooded white robes. The one in the middle asked Tony
several questions and then introduced himself as "The One." He then
proceeded to take off his hood and revealed his face, which had a
glassy-crytsal appearance.
"The One" explained that he was the rightful ruler of the Jenione
Empire, but that his throne had been usurped. Tony asked to become
his servant. "The One" asked Tony to identify which of his followers
standing in the room with him was a rogue Jenione. Tony viewed their
power and found one that was a great deal more powerful than the others
and picked him. "The One" was impressed and nodded at Tony. Suddenly
that Jenione screamed out in agonizing pain and dropped to the floor
with its body withered. Afterward, "The One" approached Tony and said
that there was one more deception in the room. Tony had suspected
that Kalis wasn't who he said he was and pointed to him. "The One"
smiled at Tony and suddenly Kalis began to thrash about wildly in
excruciating pain. His form changed from that of Kalis into a Jenione
and its body withered before Tony.
Afterward, "The One" and Tony discussed the terms of his servitude.
Tony learns that his wife Sethra is being held in a Jenione Prison
along with Kalis. Tony proposes that if "The One" will help him get
to the Dzurian Empire that he can then convince them to go to war
with the Jenione to rescue Sethra. During the war, "The One" could
then take advantage and take back his throne. "The One" liked Tony's
idea and decided to transport him in a ship along with some of his
followers near the borders of the great Dzurian Empire. At this point
the meeting ends and Tony leaves. He gathered the Heroes together
along with Roger and they were all transported to the borders of the
Dzurian Empire in a ship provided by "The One."
Upon arrival they are greeted by several Dzurian Warships who inquired
about their intentions. Tony quickly relayed the story of the capture
of his wife and implored the Dzurians for help to rescue her. He also
stated that he acquired the ship from Martil Kornad and that he was
Martil's apprentice. The Dzurians agreed to escort them to the Homeworld
to address the High Council with his story. The journey to the homeworld
was glorious and incredible. The views of the galaxy were immense
and filled with brilliant lights and an array of assorted colors.
Tony was awestruck with the immensity and beauty of the galaxy. At
last they arrived at the homeworld with its swirling clouds of white,
blue, and gray. Above it were two large moons each with a greenish-blue
atmosphere of their own. The Warships entered an orbit aroudn the
homeworld and were then transported down to the planet's surface inside
a large, white cylindrical building with passive pillars.
A small group of robed men greeted them and escorted Tony to a set
of two large, stone doors, behind which the Dzurian High Council sat.
The doors opened and Tony was escorted inside. The room was an incredibly
high and spacious cylinder that rose higher than the eye could see.
Seated along all sides were the millions of council members, each
representing one star system in the empire, looking down on Tony.
Tony became overwhelmed with the power that was before him and their
great influence. As Tony began to explain his story a pillar of light
descended upon him and his body rose high up into the chamber and
then suddenly stopped in mid air halfway up. As Tony spoke his voice
echoed wildly throughout the room. Tony recounted how Sethra was taken
prisoner and pled for the Dzurian people to aid him in rescuing her
from the Jenione. After his deception about Martil Kornad was uncovered,
the High Council granted Tony's wish, and promised to send several
ships with him to help.
After the decision had been finalized Tony descended back down to
the floor, and was escorted back out of the council chambers. At once
a messenger arrived and informed the robed men that Tony was to be
taken to the Dzurian Temple for a special meeting. The men looked
quite surprised and informed Tony that he was to be escorted to the
temple for a very important meeting. Tony was quite shocked and overwhelmed
but followed them anyway. As Tony was escorted to the temple crowds
of people became very curious and wondered about who he might be.
At the temple Tony was greeted by a man in white robes who identified
himself as Kohath, a Sentinel of the Dzurian Temple. From here Kohath
escorted Tony inside himself and shut the doors behind them.
They walked a little deeper inside the temple past several pillars
until they were met by another robed man. He introduced himself as
Morican, the Dzurian Emissary. Morican thanked Kohath for his service
as did Tony. Morican could tell that Tony was overwhelmed about the
whole scenario and greeted him warmly. Morican then informed Tony
about the incredible experience he was about to have. He was to meet
with the goddess Dzura at her specific command. Tony became even more
excited and nervous. He wondered why he was so special. Morican informed
him that nobody was ever allowed to see her except for him. This was
an incredible honor not to be taken lightly. Tony agreed.
Morican proceeded to escort Tony to another set of doors through which
Tony passed. Once inside the other room the doors closed behind him.
Tony looked about and saw several pillars lining each wall and an
altar in the middle of the room. Ahead of the altar were several stairs
which led up to a beautiful throne. Instantly a swirling mass of energy
and intense power descended upon the throne and became the form of
an indescribably beautiful woman who shone brighter than the sun.
Tony immediately fell to his knees with respect and maybe a little
fear. She commanded him to rise and he obeyed. She introduced herself
as the goddess Dzura. She proceeded to ask Tony several questions
and he inturn was able to ask some of his own. During this learning
session Dzura informed Tony of "The One's" true identity. He was a
rogue Jenione who was rebelling against the Jenione Empire. Tony had
been deceived. Tony also learned that he was what was known as a Traveler.
A mythic being capable of travel through time, space, and dimension.
He also found out that two Travelers were initially sent to his world,
Earth. Tony was one. The other was his village friend Micah. They
both chose that world and the form they wish to have there. In addition
to these revelations, Dzura tells Tony that he must destroy the ship
that he traveled here with, and the Jenione on it. Tony agrees to
the terms. Dzura disappears and Tony leaves the room. He then spoke
with Morican for a few minutes and then transports himself onto the
Jenione ship. Once on the ship he immediately casts an explosive spell,
transports away to the surface, and then watches as the impending
explosion tears the ship apart, killing all onboard. Tony is then
rewarded with a great deal of experience.
After he gained his experience for destroying the ship, he boarded
a Dzurian Warship and headed off to the remote Jenione prison with
several other Dzurian Warships to rescue his beloved wife, Sethra.
They are confronted by two Jenione Warships patrolling the prison
world, which they easily destroy. They transport down to the surface
and find the prison protected by an energy shield which they penetrate.
They successfully infiltrate the prison and kill all of the Jenione
guards without any casualties to their party. They discovered Sethra
and Kalis encased inside a glass-type case filled with some strange
stasis liquid. They broke the cases open and rescued both of them.
Afterward they quickly returned to the Dzurian Empire before Jenione
reinforcements could arrive.
Upon arrival back, Tony was rewarded with more experience which then
qualified him to become a Dzur Lord. Tony was elated and enjoyed a
great feast in his honor with most of his family, friends, and associates
there with him. This moment had been Tony's lifelong dream and had
finally come true. The greatest honor during the ceremony was when
he knelt before Sethra, a Dzur Master, and she proceeded to promote
him to the class of a Dzur Lord and also the honor of becoming a Dzurian
being with all its new powers. Tony was no longer human. Afterward
an intense celebration ensued for hours. This moment was the highlight
of Tony's desires, yet his quest did not end there.
Soon after the feast and celebration Tony was summoned by epistle
by a man named Valcor. Valcor informed Tony that he would evaluate
him to see whether or not he was worthy to be an apprentice. Tony
decides to meet with Valcor but takes Kalis with him. They proceeded
to Valcor's residence, which was inhabited by several Dzur Lords,
and met with Valcor. During his discussion with Valcor, Tony discovers
that he is not a true Dzurian. Valcor was arrogant and tried to persuade
Tony to abandon his new ideals in a quest for knowledge and ultimate
power. Tony suspected that he was a Dark Dzur Lord. He contacted Sethra
to inform her of the situation and she promised to arrive with help.
She said that Tony could not attack him unless Valcor made the first
move.
So Tony and Valcor spoke for a while and Tony began to deceive Valcor
into thinking that he would turn and follow him. Tony allowed Valcor
to attack Kalis so that Tony would have an opportunity to see Valcor
use his power and expose himself for what he truly was. As Valcor
began draining the life out of Kalis, Tony stopped him, and placed
a stasis field around Kalis. Valcor became angry and began to protect
himself with magical shields, preparing to destroy Tony. Tony managed
to penetrate his defenses and placed Valcor inside a statis field,
where he could not attack or be attacked.
Tony has now returned to the planet Dikar where he is searching for
his son Joshua Kalis, and seeks to become acquainted with him. Tony
left him here with the colony that he formed when he first arrived
from Earth. Joshua was only four years old at the time. Many years
have passed now. Tony was told by the colonists that Joshua had left
about 15 years ago and headed into the northern lands. After visiting
the colony, Tony left and went to visit the Heroes in their tower.
Taloon, a great friend of Tony, and a Hero, was left to help guard
the tower while Lomak and some of the other Heroes had set out north
to extinguish some reported trouble. Tony thanked Taloon for the information
and teleported north to Lomak's position. When Tony appeared, Lomak
was overjoyed to see him. The last time he had seen Tony was before
he left for the Dzurian Empire. Tony inquired about their quest. Lomak
told him that some bird-like creatures had been terrorizing the local
population.
After journeying for a couple of hours the Heroes approached a large
mountain. Near the top and by the mouth of a cave, they spied three
large bat-like birds guarding the cave entrance. They easily get past
the birds and Tony goes deeper inside the cave until he enters a huge
cavern. Inside the cavern was a small mining village with a couple
of slave masters directing the work. Tony
entered the village and inquired as to what they were mining. The
miners responded with great fear and continued their work hastily.
Tony soon realized that these people were slaves. He found the slave
foremans and inquired about what they were mining. The lead foreman
confronted Tony about who he was and where he got his equipment. The
foreman thought that Tony was supposed to be one his workers. He ordered
Tony to get back to work. When Tony defied the order and threatened
the foreman when he did not agree to release the slaves, the foreman
attacked him.
The attack was in vain and Tony made him pay dearly. He then ordered
one of his other men to attack Tony and he endured the same pain.
Finally, and reluctantly, the foreman agree to let the people go free.
Tony agreed to let him go free also if he would promise to never return
to this mountain again or to compel others to be his slaves. The foreman
agreed. The miners were extremely happy and surprised to be able to
leave the mines and herded themselves outside the cave, and down the
mountain. After they were all out, Tony destroyed the inside of the
cave and it collapsed into rubble. The foreman was quite depressed
about losing his profitable mines. About this same time, Tony received
a distinct impression that a "familiar presence" was nearby. He didn't
know who it was or what it meant. He brought Kalis with him to investigate.
It was coming from inside the mountain. He followed it around the
other side of the mountain and then found a small hole in some of
the rocks which led to a larger cave below. He cleared the rockes
and they entered the cave.
The cave sloped down quite a bit. The walls were sparkling with purple
and blue-colored crystals. When the meager amount of sunlight hit
the crystals the resulting effect was spectacular. Images of crystals
and shiny surfaces projected everywhere illuminating the cave. Tony
and Kalis followed the cave downwards for quite some time. At the
end of the cave they discovered a stone door carved inside the surrounding
rock. They are about to open the door....???
